The University of Texas at Austin has unveiled UT Spark, a free generative artificial intelligence platform now available to all students and faculty members. The platform launched Monday through UT Enterprise Technology.
Key Features of UT Spark

Vice President for Technology Cole Camplese explained in a campus-wide email that the platform can assist with:

Camplese revealed that future updates will allow users to create custom AI agents that can:
- Automate routine tasks
- Answer specific questions using university web content
- Serve as study aids (e.g., creating quizzes without providing answers)
Responsible AI Use Guidelines
The launch follows the university's new guidelines for responsible AI adoption in academic settings. Julie Schell, Assistant Vice Provost of Academic Technology, emphasized:
"Use the tools we provide access to, but always keep in mind those limitations and make sure that your use is intentional."

Camplese highlighted the importance of making advanced AI tools available campus-wide:
