Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff Highlights AI Impact on Productivity
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff discusses how AI is transforming workflows, with 30-50% of tasks now automated, and aims to demystify AI for customers.
Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff revealed in an interview with Bloomberg’s The Circuit with Emily Chang that artificial intelligence (AI) is now handling 30-50% of tasks at the company, from engineering to customer service.
"Everything has changed with AI," Benioff said. "Customers want the power of AI without the mystique. I want to try to get to that point."
Agentforce and the Rise of AI Agents
Salesforce’s AI-powered tools, including Agentforce, are already deployed by 5,000 customers, with projections of 1 billion agents by year-end.
"It’s amazing how many agents we see getting spawned," Benioff noted. "This is what AI was meant to be—making you more productive, reducing costs, and simplifying tasks."
AI Accuracy and Competitive Edge
While acknowledging AI isn’t perfect, Benioff emphasized Salesforce’s 93% accuracy rate, attributing it to superior data and metadata integration.
"Other vendors may lag because they lack the same depth of data," he said.
The Digital Labor Revolution
Benioff framed AI adoption as a "digital labor revolution," estimating $3-$12 trillion in value from AI agents and robots.
"Digital labor will include everything from AI assistants to robots," he added.
AI as a Leadership Partner
Even CEOs aren’t immune to AI’s reach. Benioff joked about being replaced but shared how AI aids his work:
"I wrote this year’s business plan with an AI partner alongside my human collaborator. It’s the three of us now."
With Agentforce, Benioff envisions "digital employees" handling customer service, sales, and analytics—"that’s exciting."
