Warp 2.0 introduces AI agents, smarter terminal features, and team collaboration tools to enhance developer workflows.

The AI-powered terminal space is rapidly evolving, with developers seeking smarter tools to streamline workflows. Traditional terminals are transforming into intelligent workspaces capable of assisting with coding, automation, and collaboration. Google recently entered this arena with its Gemini CLI, an AI-powered command-line interface designed to boost productivity.

Amid this growing competition, Warp 2.0 has arrived, rebranding itself as an "Agentic Development Environment" (ADE). This major update integrates AI agents directly into developer workflows, enabling tasks like code writing, automation, and workflow management within the terminal. Users can run multiple agents simultaneously, enhancing multitasking efficiency.

Key Features of Warp 2.0

  • AI Agents: Assist with coding, task automation, and workflow management.
  • Warp Drive: Centralizes commands, prompts, and environment settings for teams.
  • Enhanced Terminal Experience: Improved command editing, mouse support, and syntax highlighting.

Zach Lloyd, CEO of Warp, emphasized the need for a native agentic workflow in the launch announcement:

"The products on the market today, from AI IDEs to CLI coding agents, all miss the mark supporting this workflow. They bolt agents onto code editors through chat panels and bury them in CLI apps."

Warp 2.0 is available for Linux, Windows, and macOS via the official website. Existing users can update through the Warp app or their system’s package manager.
