China advances AI Agents and 5G-A networks for smarter future

Remote learning has already begun to take off in some parts of the world. But 5G would greatly improve the quality of such learning.

Chinese technology developers are mapping out the future with artificial intelligence agents, supported by faster 5G-advanced (5G-A) networks, to streamline activities for daily life and businesses.

AI Agents: The Next Frontier

At the Mobile World Congress in Shanghai, experts highlighted AI Agents—software programs that use AI to perform tasks independently with minimal human oversight. Dominic Wallace, a senior PR manager at Huawei Technologies, explained that these agents build personal memory models to learn user habits and preferences, continuously improving services.

5G-A Networks: Powering AI

While AI Agents are still conceptual, 5G-A networks—offering enhanced speed and latency—are being piloted to support AI technologies. Over 300 Chinese cities already have 5G-A, with 10 million users nationwide.

Food Delivery Drones: Already in use, these will be enhanced by AI for precision drops.
Humanoid Robots: Leju Robot’s CEO emphasized the need for intelligent connectivity beyond stability.
