Convenience-store veteran-run technology company Newtide has launched its artificial intelligence (AI) platform, RisingTide, focused on the fuel and convenience retail industry.

Industry Veterans Behind the Platform

Since 2023, three convenience-store leaders have been building the AI company. Newtide's founder and chairman, Doug Haugh, is the former president of Parkland USA. CEO Vlad Collak previously founded Talentr, an AI company acquired by Newtide. Brandon Huff, chief product officer, was formerly at Titan Cloud Software.

How RisingTide Works

The RisingTide AI agent integrates with customers' existing technology and uses data management and AI workflows to address:

  • Supply chain challenges
  • Trading and logistics
  • Procurement and accounting
  • Merchandising
  • Retail operations

The platform transforms organizational data into business outcomes using both traditional machine learning and generative AI.

Platform Components

RisingTide includes three proprietary components:

  1. Data Helm - Foundation for data ingestion and management that captures raw data from emails, documents, databases or APIs
  2. Agent Harbor - Enables creation, training and deployment of AI agents that perform tasks and generate insights
  3. Shipyard - AI workflow factory that orchestrates automation with drag-and-drop editor supporting 300+ services

Executive Perspective

"By equipping every employee with intelligent agents and workflows, the RisingTide AI platform eliminates repetitive, mind-numbing tasks, boosting efficiency and freeing teams to focus on strategic work while delivering better service," said CEO Vlad Collak.
