Skyfire collaborates with Cequence Security to provide secure and compliant digital access for autonomous AI agents in the AI economy.

Skyfire and Cequence Security have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enabling secure and compliant access to digital services for autonomous AI agents. This collaboration integrates Cequence Security's API security and bot management capabilities with Skyfire's payment and identity network, designed specifically for the AI agent economy.

Key Highlights of the Partnership

  • Cequence Security's Expertise: The company currently secures over 8 billion API interactions daily and protects more than 3 billion user accounts across Fortune 500 and global enterprises. Its systems already distinguish between malicious and benign bots. With Skyfire's technology, Cequence can now identify Skyfire-verified AI agents as trusted automation.

  • Challenges Addressed: AI agents face barriers when accessing digital services that require credentials, identity verification, and payment authorization—typically designed for human users. Skyfire's infrastructure allows AI agents to present verified credentials and payment methods programmatically, enabling access to paywalled websites and private APIs autonomously.

  • Enhanced Security: Cequence's platform now supports Skyfire's identity and payment protocol, allowing security teams to recognize and authorize verified AI agents while blocking untrusted automation associated with scraping, fraud, or abuse.

Quotes from Leadership

  • Amir Sarhangi, CEO of Skyfire: "AI agents aren't just scraping the web anymore. They're transacting, subscribing, booking, and buying. Our partnership with Cequence enables an internet where agents are first-class participants in the digital economy."

  • Ameya Talwalkar, CEO of Cequence: "Security should never be a barrier to business. With Skyfire, we now have a shared framework to verify and trust non-human users at the edge, unlocking a new era of secure, seamless interactions."

Technical Integration

Skyfire's protocol assigns AI agents programmable wallets, funded via payment cards, ACH, wire transfers, or USDC. These wallets integrate identity credentials and payment rules for enterprise use. Cequence's bot management platform evaluates behavioral and contextual signals, including Skyfire-issued identifiers, to enhance trust in automated interactions.

Industry Impact

This partnership addresses the challenge of AI agents accessing valuable digital content behind login walls, anti-bot systems, or compliance requirements. It also reflects the evolving demand for API security that distinguishes trusted automation without compromising performance or customer experience.

Cequence's platform combines API visibility with native enforcement, enabling teams to detect abnormal behavior and enforce access controls without modifying existing applications. Unlike other security approaches, Cequence uses context-aware detection grounded in traffic patterns and adaptive machine learning.

Future Outlook

The integration aims to support the emerging AI agent economy by providing secure, autonomous access to digital services while maintaining compliance and fraud protection. This marks a significant step toward a future where AI agents can interact with digital services as seamlessly as human users.
