Eufy unveils AI-powered security NVRs with real-time crime detection
The ProSecure NVR and HomeBase Pro will feature AI chipsets to analyze threats and alert users to potential dangers.
Eufy has announced two new networked security video recorder (NVR) systems—the ProSecure NVR and the HomeBase Professional S1—both equipped with AI capabilities to detect and alert users to potential threats in real time. These systems emphasize local storage, eliminating the need for cloud dependency, with expandable storage options up to 16TB.
Key Features
-
ProSecure NVR: Supports up to 16 PoE cameras, including 4K bullet PTZ and turret-style cameras with color night vision and cross-camera tracking. Packages range from $999 to $1,299.
-
HomeBase Pro: Features Zigbee connectivity for integration with devices like keypads, smoke detectors, and video doorbells. It also includes 4G cellular connectivity and 24-hour battery backup.
AI Capabilities
The systems will deploy a local AI agent to analyze live feeds for suspicious activity, such as someone checking car doors or lingering on a porch. The AI can differentiate between a delivery person and a potential intruder based on clothing and posture. If a threat is detected, it can trigger alarms, send alerts, or even contact ExpertSecure, a 24/7 monitoring service combining AI and human responders.
Availability
The advanced AI features will not be available at launch but will arrive later this year via a Snapdragon AI chipset upgrade. The ProSecure NVR is currently available for pre-order, while pricing for the HomeBase Pro and ExpertSecure service will be announced later.
