Microsoft Teams Up with UiPath to Advance AI-Driven Enterprise Automation
Microsoft and UiPath have announced a new collaboration focused on enterprise automation, unveiling a seamless integration between Microsoft Copilot Studio and UiPath Studio.
Microsoft and UiPath have announced a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing enterprise automation through a seamless integration between Microsoft Copilot Studio and UiPath Studio. This partnership enables developers to embed UiPath agents and automations directly into Microsoft Copilot Studio, while also allowing Microsoft Copilot agents to be utilized within UiPath Studio. The integration builds on last year's demonstration of UiPath Autopilot in Microsoft Teams and Copilot experiences, offering enhanced orchestration and process automation capabilities.
Key Features of the Integration
- Bidirectional Integration: Developers can now invoke UiPath agents from Copilot Studio and vice versa, enabling dynamic handoffs between platforms.
- Enhanced Power Platform Connector: UiPath's Power Platform connector has been upgraded to allow embedding UiPath agents within Copilot Studio agent flows, facilitating end-to-end process orchestration across Microsoft 365 apps like Outlook and SharePoint, as well as external enterprise systems.
- Long-Running Process Automation: UiPath agents can delegate tasks to Copilot Studio agents and resume processing upon completion, ensuring seamless workflow continuity.
Use Cases
- Email Triage and Case Assignment: Copilot agents in Outlook can triage emails and assign cases, handing off to UiPath for document processing and system updates.
- Escalation Routing: UiPath agents can route escalations via Microsoft Graph and UiPath Action Center, with status updates returned to Copilot Studio for follow-up actions.
Developer Access
Developers can start building agentic workflows using the UiPath Connector actions in Microsoft Copilot Studio immediately. This integration is expected to unlock new efficiencies for enterprises by combining the strengths of both platforms.
