Writer unveils AI HQ platform betting on agents to transform enterprise work
Writer unveils AI HQ platform to transform enterprise work with autonomous agents that execute complex workflows across systems potentially reducing workforce needs while delivering measurable ROI on AI investments
Enterprise AI company Writer unveiled its new AI HQ platform today, positioning it as a solution to bridge the gap between AI's potential and real-world business results. The platform focuses on autonomous AI agents capable of executing complex workflows across organizations with minimal human oversight.
Beyond Chatbots: AI Agents Deliver Tangible Value
CEO May Habib emphasized that most enterprises have struggled to achieve meaningful results from generative AI despite two years of experimentation. "Process mapping is the new prompt engineering," she stated, highlighting Writer's shift from simple text generation to designing complete AI-driven workflows.
The platform consists of three key components:
- Agent Builder: Development environment for creating custom AI agents
- Writer Home: Library of 100+ pre-built agents for specific industries
- Observability tools for monitoring agent behavior
Real-World Applications Showcase Potential
Demonstrations included:
- An investment firm using agents to generate fund reports by pulling data from Snowflake and SEC filings
- Marketing workflows where agents analyze briefs, create projects in Adobe Workfront, and prepare materials for legal review
The Future of AI Learning
CTO Waseem AlShikh unveiled research into "self-evolving models" - AI systems that learn from mistakes without retraining. "If we expect AI to behave more like a human, we need it to learn more like a human," he explained.
Market Position and Growth
Writer's $1.9 billion valuation follows a $200 million Series C round led by Premji Invest, Radical Ventures, and ICONIQ Growth. The company reports:
- 160% net retention rate
- Client contracts growing from $200k-$300k to ~$1 million
Challenges in the $114 Billion Enterprise AI Market
While optimistic about AI's transformative potential, Habib acknowledged workforce concerns: "Ten percent of the headcount is going to be enough." However, she framed this as creating "new AI-related jobs that are interesting and rewarding."
The Agent Builder and observability tools are currently in beta, with general availability expected later this spring. The Writer Home and pre-built agents are available to all customers immediately.
