Adobe is developing AI agents for Photoshop and Premiere Pro
Adobe is creating AI creative agents to assist with photo and video editing in Photoshop and Premiere Pro, offering automated suggestions and task execution.
Adobe is advancing its creative software suite by developing AI agents for Photoshop and Premiere Pro, as announced in a blog post by Ely Greenfield, Adobe’s CTO of digital media. These agents, dubbed "creative agents," will automate and suggest edits, streamlining workflows for users.
Photoshop’s AI Agent
The AI agent for Photoshop will be housed in a new floating Actions panel, offering context-aware suggestions like removing background distractions or adjusting depth of field. Users can execute these edits with a single click, eliminating the need for manual masking and layering. Adobe has already integrated AI features such as Distraction Removal and canvas expansion.
Users can also interact with the agent using natural language prompts, making it easier to learn complex tasks. For example, requesting the agent to "clean up an image and add a text box" will generate a step-by-step process, including layer creation and object removal.
Premiere Pro’s AI Agent
Premiere Pro’s AI agent builds on the recently launched Media Intelligence feature, which analyzes video content for objects and composition. The agent will assist with rough cuts, shot refinement, color adjustment, and audio mixing. Adobe also introduced Generative Extend, an AI tool that extends clip durations for smoother transitions.
Release Timeline
Adobe will debut the Photoshop AI agent at its Max event in London on April 24th. The company emphasizes that while AI can’t replace human creativity, it can accelerate productivity and skill development.
Key Takeaways:
- AI agents will automate and suggest edits in Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
- Natural language prompts enable intuitive interaction.
- Premiere Pro’s agent enhances video editing efficiency.
- Launch set for Adobe Max London on April 24th.
